Hi there! I was just curious if it were possible to setup SDI trigger record on the Blackmagic Video Assist 7 12G with the Teradek Ace 800 to automatically start recording on the monitor for playback when record is pressed on the camera? is this possible with this setup if so how (or is it specific to the camera body?)

The trigger record comes from the camera and is inbedded in the video SDI signal. Your first step would be to check if the camera does send out the signal. You could do this by connecting your recorder directly to the camera and seeing if it automatically triggers it.
I know for myself I often use the smaller video assist and I haven’t had any problems with any major video transmitting systems.
