with the advent of 12g SDI ports becoming more and more common out there, will the sub-4K TXs support a 12g feed and be able to down res and transmit video?
I know there are variable ports out there, such as on the Komodo, that can support various Gs, and other cameras like the C500 mkII, that only have a dedicated 12G SDI port.
I am just looking for a better understanding of working with 12G workflow from camera to monitor. If dedicated 12G SDI out will only work with 12G cable and 4K wireless systems, then OK. Or, are there ways to combine both until we all get caught up to 12g data flow?
Not sure how the sub-4k TXs will react, but you can always lower the cameras output signal, instead of relying on the bolt to do the downscalling. I guess a workflow where you can combine both signals would require an SDI scaler like a decimator in the middle of your signal chain.
