Thoughts on new Teradek Bolt 6
Has anyone had any experiences with the new bolt system? I was planning on upgrading and wanted to see how it truly compared to the previous 4k models. I know its suppose to fix previous issues but i hear back and forth things.

I recently used a Bolt 6 LT 750 and was really impressed. I usually use a bolt 3000 and my experience was so good I am considering selling the ol reliable 3000. 6ghz is so unpopulated right now, and while that will change in the future, the results are apparent.
While the bolt 6 sometimes took a bit longer to connect, the signal seemed more robust. The signal was holding strong in situations my 3000 would need the array, and this was only with the lowest range model of the 6.
I frequently keep an RX in a backpack rig with my Lightranger VOU and I usually get very reduced range doing this, but the bolt 6 was very stable.
I prefer the form factor of the older TX but it’s not a huge deal, if you are already used to the 4k line then it is the same. You can pair more receivers (only 4 on the 3000) and the app is rather convenient compared to pairing via paper clip.
