just wanted to share a discovery of a possible modification to the 703 V-Lock plate.

I was always anoyed by the plastic Anton Bauer plate on my 703 because it was very wobbly and even the v lock receptor is injection molded in thin plastic.

So I bought a Wooden Camera/Anton Bauer Pro Plate a couple years ago with the intention of using it attached to a monitor cage. Worked very well with little play. It has the same screw pattern as a standard gold mount plate which is also used on the back of the 703.

In the end I resoldered the powercable from the original one to the new aluminum and it works flawless. The Wobble is gone to a gold mount comparable degree. And cherry on top it adds 2 additional electronically regulated p-taps.
