FX9 changing recording resolution

I was on set yesterday with the FX9 for the first time in a while. I went through and checked all the settings, went to 5kFF crop and 3.8k record resolution.

The DP switched on Log output for lighting.

We were then stuck in log, unable to change but we had to turn over.

At some point in that process recording resolution was changed to 1080p which as it turns out locks you into outputting log over the SDI. It took us a few takes to realise we were at 1080 but nobody changed that setting.

Is there another function that forces rec res to 1080? Was this just a weird Sony hiccup?

Sony FX6 and FX9 has a lot of stupid things, where MLUT is on a different menu then the actual menu. So partial menu you need to access via status button to change the LOG to MLUT as in the real menu it has the setting but if set there it doesn't do anything and via status menu is the correct spot. 1080p doesn't lock into log as had recorded 1080p slowmotion still with MLUT on before. Feel more like someone had messed with the menu, know few Sony DOP who don't know the camera menu well themselves and accidentally change stuff. Other issue with Sony is their output over HDMI or SDI in 1080 is not P, but psf which is 50i and get a low quality image to focus with. With Sony it is better just to use the HDMI in 4k to a Ninja V and there have it output to 1080 to transmitters which can't handle 4k yet, but atleast get real 1080p signal to focus with.
