R/S on BM Pyxis

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a solution to r/s on a Blackmagic Pyxis 6k, preferebly with 3-pin fischer.

There is not a simple 2.5mm jack like on the old Ursas. Just a mysterious USB-C port, thats used by both the Pyxis Monitor and the newly annouced Side-Grip for triggering.

I have seen some 3-Pin Conversion Modules to 2,5mm jacks and 2,5mm to USB-C cables, but before buying into anything I just wanted to throw this out there!

Thank you so much in advance for anything really and have a great week

Rialto on the RS4 pro

I will be starting soon on a TV series where the main setup will be the Rialto on a Ronin RS4 pro with a Tilta ring grip. In my research I have mostly seen this setup for commercial work or specific shots with very minimal builds. We need to make it work with the Leitz Hugo, two motors, a small matte box and a cinetape. I know we are stretching the capabilities of the RS4 and I would prefer having it on a Ronin 2, but this is what I have to work with. We had preliminary tests were we managed to balance the setup, but it was in controlled circumstances. Has anyone ever used the Rialto on an RS with these kinds of accessories? Any tips on how to make it work more smoothly in the long run?

WiFi setup on Alexa mini LF

Hey there. I am trying to extend an make the Alexa mini LF WiFi range more stable.

I have tried to create a WiFi access point with a travell router but it does not give me acces to the camera via webremote (have not tried with companion app since I use android).

I have also connected the camera to the router via 10pin to RJ45 cable and connected with my phone to the WiFi network and same negative result.

Does anyone know how I could do it? Or have any idea of what I am doing wrong?

Thanks to all 😊

Hey Pepe, how are you trying to open the web remote? It might help to open it on your device with the IP instead of the alexaminilf-serial.local address, which you can find in Menu > Info > Network Info > WiFi IP. I also go into a little bit of detail in this video, which may help troubleshooting: https://youtu.be/3eeJKfn5ctw?si=dhkxHWP9wh6m4Lv2&t=620

‘Shot on iPhone’ AC help

Hi folks!

I’m set to work on a feature here in Denmark starting in may with A and B cams being iPhone 15 pro max. I’m reasearching and trying to find resources on the optimal way of using an iPhone on a professional filmset as I’ve never worked on a job with such a camera setup. I imagine few have, but if anyone has, I’d greatly appreciate if they could get in touch and share whatever issues and workarounds they’ve come up with as I only see issues with this setup.

It really is anywhere from best accessories to timecode-solutions I’m hoping to get someone more experienced in this niche field to give perspective on.

You can get in touch on my email ce@mosaikfilm.dk or obviously share on FPAW for the whole community to learn. Thanks a bunch!

iPhone need to get a USB-C dock onto your iphone so you can power the phone plus record to external SSD, plus get a full size HDMI to connect to transmitter or monitor. If not using a matt glass adapter to use actual lenses and are using the normal camera lenses of the phone itself. You can use the Blackmagic Camera App with the new Nucleus Nano II remotes to control iPhone focus and also zooming. Definitely a lot of diy rigging and solutions to make it all fit nice on a rig. Not sure about timecodes as just need to have a proper dock with audio in to record it onto the sound channel. But seems a lot of hassle for a feature film. Though it is a lot cheaper than a Cinema camera.
