RIA-1 / OCU Bracket
Hey Guys,
I've been working on a bracket with Ben @ Arma Cine to build the RIA-1 with and OCU into a pimped out SXU while running in client mode. It's one of my favourite features of the RIA-1 so I wanted to make the whole process streamline. The added functionality of 3 User Buttons, Limits and Lens data have been great on set. Being able to give the DOP a fully integrated exposure tool has been amazing. I've been setting the buttons for SDI Exposure Tool, SDI Log, and ND+. That way they can have all the tools at their finger tips.

I've designed the Bracket to be modular so you can break away the OCU-1 and mount it on a monitor and hide all the wireless business from the DP, so all they see is a clean readout with T-Stop info. The Monitor mount has a flippable insert so you can have SmallHD locking pins if you want them or not.
The OCU and Monitor Mount will be available, stand alone as a kit for @cmotionLCS users who are using a Camin but that will be after our first few batches are complete.

My other thought with this was for DITs you're able to put the RIA-1 at the top of a stand for better range and just drop a 1.5m LBUS down to your cart and have the OCU mounted somewhere.
We've also made a 12v regulated NPF Plate that uses the same batteries as the Hi-5. Running the RIA-1 + OCU-1 I've been getting about 6-8 hours out of a battery.
To finish it off there is a Wooden left hand grip that can be attached to the bottom.
These should start shipping in the next 2-3weeks.
Pricing is as follows:
Metalwork Cage - £395 ex Vat
Includes:
RIA-1 L-Bracket
OCU-1 Mounting bracket
Top Accessory Mount
Monitor Mounting bracket with reversible insert
NPF 12v regulated LBUS Battery Plate with Locking Pins - £75 ex Vat

We are also about to finish developing a Rosette Dog bone to add a master grip to the system to add zoom control and handle. Pricing & Pictures will follow.

Hey Jim,
Excellent stuff. I’ve had some background thoughts of my own, so this is great to see.
And good to know about the NPF power. 6-8 hours is decent, and much more streamline than a D-tap to Vlock. so no need to power the RIA-1 via Cam7p when in Client mode. I’ll be in touch re ordering. cheers
