Arri RF trigger record on Panasonic Varicam LT
Hi all,
I am working with the Panasonic Varicam LT next Wednesday and my Arri C-Force Mini RF, C-Force Plus, C-Force Mini and LCUBE to FocusBug CineRT.
I am using the Arri CAM to 4-pin Hirose/d-tap splitter cable for the Venice. However, despite initially triggering record on/off from my WCU-4 handset, I am now unable to trigger at all from the handset and the camera rolls on boot up or when the 4-pin Hirose gets plugged in.
Does anyone have any experience with the Varicam and trigger recording from an RF motor?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
FYI, my RF motor (iris) is first in the daisy-chain, followed by C-Force Plus (focus), C-Force Mini (zoom), then LCUBE (CineRT) with an extra LBUS to d-tap for extra power. Everything runs on a single 12v AB mount battery.
I can try feeding power into the tail-end (LCUBE) from a 2nd 12v battery if that’s what is causing the issue.
Cheers,
Pim Kulk.

Hey Pim, I can also confirm that it won't work. From memory it will work with the Varicam 35, but not the LT, as the Hirose integration in that camera doesn't follow the Sony standard and i *think* expects a different voltage range on the trigger. We also had an issue on Home & Away where the EMC-1 boxes wouldn't trigger LTs either, and would roll the camera when the cable was plugged in, but that was fixed by replacing custom cables with ARRI branded ones and they've been happy since.
