Hi-5 Premarked Rings Advice
Hey all. I recently acquired an ARRI Hi-5. I’m having trouble knowing which pre-marked rings to use in any given situation. There’s 9 rings total and not much difference between some of them, the 1’8” and 2’ for example. There’s:

I’m just wondering what peoples advice would be. When should I use the 1’8” over the 2’? When should I use the 1’3” over the 1’8”? Should I limit myself to a certain selection of the rings?

I agree with Max. When I’m on A camera probably 95% of the time I will use the CMotion 20” ring. When I am B or on longer lens I use the 3’6” ring. If I go close focus I sometimes put on the closer rings or turn the blank option. If you use the blank ring function and set a knob limit you can extend your limits over the entire know throw which is a great trick on macro focus pulls.
