Alexa Mini, RIA-1, cforce Mini, Hi-5 loses LDA

Hi everyone,

today I stumbled over something I couldn't figure out yet. It's the first time I am using a Mini with the RIA-1 to get access to the CineRT features it provides.

During the day it happened three times that the LDA got lost in between the takes. There was no signal loss between camera and Hi-5, they were close at all times. I did not have the time to take any pictures or videos but I'll describe.

The digital lens scale is suddenly gone and I see only the actual set value in the middle of the Hi-5's display. That value is still matches the lens' index. The premarked ring that was used at the time is still shown as active on the Hi-5 but it actually isn't. Clearing the LDA, reloading and recalibrating it form the Hi-5 doesn't solve the issue. Clearing the premarked ring neither. Restarting the RIA-1 neither. Clearing the LDA from the RIA-1 and then choosing it again from the Hi-5 does help though. It therefore seems to be an issue of the RIA-1.

I will investigate more tomorrow but just wonder if it's an issue of the latest SUP and anyone has experienced something similar? I'm running the latest SUP's on all devices.

It reminds me of WCU-4 times when the camera would lose connection to the WCU-4 due to distance and then after regaining it a similar situation would occur.

What motors do you have? If it's the cforce You can try swapping the ria1 to an lcube and go that path....
