What’s up family.

I’m looking for some overall advice/guidance as I’ve been struggling for the past year and am trying to find an answer.

I live in a very small market that is like 90% commercials, and the market is completely dominated by two competing rental houses with full time employees that they “rent” out as 1AC’s on pretty much every production that comes to town.

I’m one of the only 1AC‘s in town that doesn’t belong to one of the rental houses and that isn’t a dual-local somewhere else, so I get left with the crappy reality tv jobs and occasionally I get the call when we rarely have multiple productions going on at once in the city.

I’m planning on moving away from my home to a stronger market where job opportunities for me actually exist, and where I can work on more narrative projects as intended, but I’m not sure where to go or really how to start.

I’m 30, I own my house, I own all of my own gear, I have my own camera van, my own car carts, a pretty big savings, and I can realistically go anywhere.

I want to work on shows that people get excited to watch, rather than weird guilty pleasures. I’d like to live somewhere that has reasonably attainable real estate prices.
