Hey folks, this is a specific question for my German/Austrian/maybe European collegues. How do you go about renting out your own gear on TV shows and features? I rented my focus monitor to production a few times, but for a small buck because the rental house couldn’t provide a monitor I wanted to pull off for 6 weeks. Now I’ve been thinking about investing into my own FIZ set and then we’re talking about 15-20k investment I have to get reimbursed for over time.

So my questions are what is your general daily/weekly price for a standard basic kit (FIZ, 2 motors, cables and stuf)? Do you charge a 3 day/week?

Can you really match rental prices on longer projects? I have the feeling that it doesn’t do much budget wise if you add a WCU4 to the camera package and that you just can’t compete with these low offers.

What are your arguments for production, because they might argue that it’s easier to get everything from one place - at least I heard that argument a few times.
