Freelensing Cine
Hello techies out there! I have an upcoming production where we will use the Freelensing Cine system to create some kind of on-camera effect that the DoP wants. I have never used it before and I'm sure we will have prep and test time but, have any of you use it before? Any feedback? I hope you can shed some light into this new system which seems odd to me. Using a focus motor while the lens moves is something I don't quite understand...Also, of all the set ups I have seen online, none of them is rigged with a focus motor 🤔

I saw this over the weekend at cine gear and it was one of my favorite things I saw. There is a rod bracket on the top that is fixed for the focus and Iris. There is a third motor bracket for panning. As for focusing any swing and tilt is a fun adventure which I can delve into more. You have to think more three dimensionally however this is leaps and bounds better than the century which has been the main option for years.
