Cpro RF and Alexa Mini LF - motor teeth not recognised

I'm using my Cpro RF motor on an Alexa Mini LF at the moment.

I'm using the Cam-Ext cable for camera control, and also have a Lbus cable going into the lens port mount for lens metadata.

Only when the Lbus cable is connected into the chain, I receive the 'motor teeth not recognised' message on the LCD screen, prompting me to recalibrate.

Any ideas?

This happens very often to me on the Mini and LF, often as a result of the Focus / Iris / Zoom Teeth Count being set to Auto in the ECS menu. I’ve had no problems with the metadata as a results so just clear the error, but you can try and set the teeth value in the ECS menu as I say to try and reduce the amount of times you see the error.

Occasionally you may lose the metadata that’s supposed to be passed via LBUS entirely - If ever this happens (on a Mini LF or Mini) I’ve found the way to get it back is to Update the Lens Mount LBUS (System > Update > Lens Mount). It takes roughly 90 seconds but you cannot roll the camera in that time.

Hope that helps.
