B Mount safety Pin=>
Hi!
Got B mount batteries on the oncoming project and mentioned that they power off, If you just push the safety Pin. That's not to useful with a playful operator. Any ideas? We can of course Just put a safety tape, but that's ridiculous.
Thx and greetings

Hey everyone. From memory when i brought this up with bebob it's because they wanted to avoid the possibility of arcing between the pins on the battery and those on the plate while connecting/disconnecting the battery. I agree that it's not ideal, but i'd also just like to point out that you have to very consciously push the button, which has a decently heavy spring, downwards nearly all the way before it will turn power off. We've had several big Panavision jobs running in Australia on bebob B-Mount batteries for the last two years and haven't had a single complaint, crews love them. We're talking world-class ACs. Operators can't complain about batteries falling off if they're the ones pushing the release button 😂
I'll see if i can get word from bebob directly on this. The SWIT B-Mount batteries i've been testing are also excellent and do not have this "feature".
