Hi all, i need some help. For the last few years ive been focuspulling with my HU on a cstand (before is was run-gun with a 5.6') .
Super relaxed. But, certainly the last few months, i miss being closer to the camera and im looking for a good run-gun setup to use, when ever i feel like being closer. At the moment i have a 7' tvlogic and a cpro HU with i can mount together with the monitor bracket and cinelocks. I have an issue with placing my vlock and receiver. Ideally on a belt? Backpack? Now, its in a fannypack and its not ideal....any tips, tricks, shops i should visit to make this a pro-setup. Or show me your setup!! thank you ever so much.
I found a solution for this exact problem last year that is working fine so far. Media Blackout (before it was called Rencher industries) makes a custom 3D printed Anton Bauer plate (I’m guessing they can do vlock) with two ptaps and two lemos. The neat thing is they make a belt attachement that can receive a cine-lock. So I have a female cinelock on my stand and another one on my belt. I can go from one to the other in seconds. There are also threads on the Anton plate so I added a small cheese plate and I can mount a Terradek directly on it. So when I am run and gun, I only have my 058 on my cPRO and the rest is on my belt. My only concern is with durability since it is a 3D printed part. In fact, the first belt attachement I received broke right away, but since it was a design flaw, they sent me a sturdier one free of charge and it’s been holding for more than a year. I also had to get longer cables to go from the plate to my monitor. All in all I’m really pleased with how it came together. Hope this can help!
I grabbed a logic block from rencher industries and it keepa batteries and my receiver snug to my 503. Then mount that on top of my hand unit with cinelocks. I moved from the 703 to the 503 due to weight during run and gun shoots.
Usually I put my screen and receiver in a small bag that opens on top, and that I hold around my neck so that it hangs in front of my chest. then I have my hands free to do anything and of course pull focus on my remote. I don’t have any picture of the set up right now but if you want one I can send you one this week :)
It is also much lighter than a remote/screen/battery/receiver rig ! And you don’t have to put it down to use your hands. And it fits for 5’ and up to 9’
Yes please! Show me! Sounds good to me
I have a prep tomorrow I’ll send you some pictures 😉
Have you thought about shelling out extra cash and getting something like a smallhd 503 sk or cine7 sk? Both probably the lighter options, just not cheap
I have yes. Crossed my mind. Im a huge tvlogic fan and for the few run/gun its maybe a bit much? Worth the experiment by trying one of those monitors soon. Thankz!!
I have just upgraded all my kit. I have tried to kept it fairly compact and self contained as most of my work is on the move. Some of the kit has not arrived yet so I can't post any photos but I can share the theory behind it. I will be running a Cine 7 with the new bolt 4k RX module on the back, powered with the Bebob 45s. Going to mount this to the Cpro HU. It will not be the lightest or most compact but it should be ok for being on the move and self contained.
