How do you clean/disinfect the gear? cleaning corona covid19 gear set By Fabio on 5/15/20, 4:40 PM • 173 views Hi all, after a long while it seems that here in Spain the productions (mostly commercial, but some fiction too) is slowly going to start over. We are all both happy to get back in business and a bit scared and/or puzzled because we don't know yet how the set will look like these days. One of the main topics I see around is about ways to make the gear germs and virus free: UV light, hydrogel, ozone, bleach, pure alcohol and a log etcetera. So, for those of you who already went back to school: what's the products are you using and you think are both efficient and viable to maintain the rhythm and don't slow down the production too much? How many times per day do you clean the gear? Does it seems to work? Does it work for you? I'm very curios to hear ya all. Stay safe! Matt Choules GBCT On 5/29/20, 12:22 PM Hi Fabio, Things are just starting to begin again here in the UK and we are asking ourselves the same things.I found this article to be useful: https://www.lensrentals.com/blog/2020/03/how-to-disinfect-camera-equipment-and-spaces/ Also, it's worth noting that you should be insisting on having your own working areas, as if another crew member from another department wanders into a shared area there's a chance of cross contamination. We in the UK are trying to use this idea of separated workspaces as an argument to also keep trainees on the job (at a time when smaller crews will be prefered) as they will take on disinfecting duties and ensure the camera dept area is kept clear of other departments... Hope this is helpful! Matt Choules GBCT
