Did you ensure? By Rozemarijn on 5/25/19, 11:55 AM • 220 views Do you ensure your equipment? How does this work in your country? Is it covered by the production? What do you do when you are not ensured and there is some damage? Here in Holland we ensure our own equipment, because in the end, we are responsible for our own stuff. Even when it gets damaged during the job, by ouselves or another crewmember. Rafael del Campo On 5/27/19, 6:22 PM Here in Chile the insurance is not obligatory and when has a accident the production must be pay, but this not happens always. If the equipment has insurance, ussually the owner send a letter to production informing the deductible of the equipment, in that case the production must be pay the deductible.
Fabio On 3/30/20, 4:35 PM Here in Spain is similar to the Netherlands I guess. I mean, IN THEORY the production that hires you should hire as well an insurance to cover the possible damages which could happen during the shooting BUT they usually hire pretty lame insurance (specially if its just for a short period of time) that have a lot of hidden conditions that could make very hard to get payed in case of an accident. Personally I hire a insurance myself to be as covered as possible and to know very well what the conditions are.If you want my two cents, if your gear worth anywhere above 2000 € you should definitely hire an insurance by yourself, in the worst case you will be refound twice ;)
