EXT to Cam(7pin) Angled cable By Hector Julian on 7/10/20, 12:50 PM • 44 views Hi everyone: I am just writing this post to share my experience on a shot I worked at yesterday. I had my Cmotion Cpro working with an Alexa Mini LF + Ronin 2 setup and Angenieux EZ zooms. I had some issues with the EXT cable I usually connect from the camera to the CPro motor because it was not angled. The problem is that the space left between the back of the camera and the Ronin's frame was super tight, and the straight cable made it even worse. I even had to pull off the black rubber which protects the cable/connection join to bend toweards the front, and although I hate bending cables that much it was the only way I could fit it so that it could be balanced properly. I'll show you a picture: That said, I'd like to know if there's any other cable out there with an angled EXT end. If there isn't, it would be pretty awesome from the Cpro guys to sell it. I haven't tried the angled EXT/RS with the RS/Cam7pin on a Mini, which could solve that problem, but I think that you lose camera control that way. PS: I have heard that the LEMO trademark has started selling angled "rotating" connectors (so that you can rotate them any way you want while keeping the "red marks" on their spot. Cheers! ERIC UGLAND On 7/11/20, 12:12 AM I actually have a right angle EXT to CAM cable, but I had to special request it from Cmotion. In my opinion, it should be the standard version of this cable since it always needs to be routed towards the front of the camera. I think it was about a 2-3 week wait time to make the custom cable for me.
Hector Julian On 7/11/20, 12:17 AM Thank you Eric! Yeah I'd definitely sell it as a standard cable since it's always going to be routed towards de lens. I'll talk to Cmotion's staff then. Thank you!
