Cpro under extreme cold conditions extreme By Hector Julian on 3/4/20, 4:38 PM • 156 views Hi guys! I'm just writing this post to share my personal experience with the Cpro hand unit and Cpro+cofrce motors under extreme cold. I got my hands on my Cpro Hand unit a month ago, and I've been working with it on a job around the world for three weeks. This particular job involved several sequemces in temperature controled rooms that were between -30ºC and -40ºC (-22F to -40F). Although Cpro hand unit and motor's operating temperature was -20 to 50 ºC they stood up well, like no problem at all. I spent around 3 hrs in those fridges in 40 min intervals, and the handset/motor combination never stopped working. The radio signal didn't drop a single line even at 50m distance. At first I was not sure if it would stand the challenge, but Cmotion surprised me again. I hope someone can find this information useful. Cheers!
1 Hector Julian On 3/24/20, 8:16 PM Hey Fabio! Nice to find you around here as well! In my case I didn't have to switch premarked rings (luckily for me). But I had to swap batteries in the actual -30ºC room and I accidentally touched an iron shelf which was next to me with my bare hands. The area I touched got kind of purple-ish and I got scared but it went back to its color as soon as I left the room :) I forgot to mention that I covered the onboard battery with a lindwrap + sticked some heat patches to it and it worked like a charm! Fabio On 3/6/20, 7:23 AM Hey Hector! Nice to find you here! And thanks for sharing the experience. I didn’t worked in such cold conditions but I did took out the cPro in the freezing sunrise of the mountain around Madrid last December. No issue at all for me too with the devices, what I did find out is that when it’s very cools the premarked rings “shrink”, so it kind of hard to put them on. Nevertheless, with some slight heating (I put them in the pouch with my sidekick) they get in with no problem
