cPro and OCU-1 By Vlassis Skoulis on 3/14/20, 12:06 PM • 184 views Hello all! Does anyone use the cPro with an OCU-1? I find the ocu-1 quite useful for quickly adjusting focus while next yo the camera/changing lens, without having to carry or go back yo your handset. Also like to give the operator the iris control so I don’t disengage the motor and see the iris live. My question is, I just tried it with the cPro and realised the override function doesn’t work. That means the only way to give control to the ocu-1 is by turning off the axis on the cPro (which is deep in the menu) and you cannot do it from the ocu-1 side. Is that a incompatibility issue? If so is it on the cPro or ocu-1 side? It’s a shame since they are both lbus and working together that you can’t use their most useful common function. LEE LEO On 3/21/20, 3:39 AM good question, I will discuss with Arri crew with ECS system
Clemens Hönig On 3/17/20, 9:13 AM In general each LBUS device is compatible with each other. That means, that the OCU is also compatible with the cPRO system. However, the override function is not supported on the cPRO. This feature might come to the cPRO system, but is not planned in the next software update. vivien turmel On 3/15/20, 8:52 AM Hello Vlassis ! As far as I know, the OCU-1 was design to work along with the ARRI WCU-4. Even if there is a corparation between ARRI and CMOTION on some products, the CPRO is not compatible with ARRI's wireless systeme. Therefore, there are some devices which will partially work. Clemmens might correct me on this but I think this incompatibility is more based on comercial agreements than a real hardware issue. I would tend to say that the incompatibility is on the CPRO side. Like you said both are using LBUS protocole but I don't think the CPRO "knows" how to handle the override fonction, yet. Maybe we can hope it's a subject of negaciations between ARRI and CMOTION. cheers !
I’d like to also speak up and and say, if they could get this working, it would be best for everyone.
...you have to admit, it’s weird that the only two devices with the unique little circular screens won’t work with each other !?
