Aidan Gray On 6/6/19, 4:04 PM Cleans Camera Support makes a panning adapter for rangefinders, but I’ve used it and it’s honestly quite a mess. Like Clemens said, I’m working on an updated version specifically for use with cforce Mini motors, and I’ll make sure to make a post here when I’m happy with it. Any specific requests or feature suggestions?
Arvid On 6/6/19, 8:42 PM Yeah I seen that but only from their website. As you say it seems like a mess, thank you for your experience! Mainly I like the idea with mounting the rangefinder directly on the motor instead of having to use extra gears and brackets. Also a custom way to mount the motor that does not require a rod. Overall I think Cmotion would be able to develop a pan bracket with Lbus that's smaller than a Cforce mini since it does not need to be able to rotate 360 and does not have to be as precise a FIZ motor (Hint hint Cmotion).
Aidan Gray On 6/11/19, 3:47 PM Just to follow up on this, I ended up designing and printing a tilt-able Cforce pan bracket designed for the Cfinder. Unfortunately I don’t have access to one to check the fit and function, but it should theoretically work 😬 If you have access to a 3D printer, let me know and I can send you the parts list and files... Alternatively, once I can check the fit I’m more than happy to send one your way! Also, in terms of mounting the motor, I’ve actually found a lot of success with just a bolt-on 19mm rod (like used with the Wooden Camera A-Box) as you need very little torque to pan a rangefinder... It also allows you to to extend the motor over the front handle and still makes it easy to remove it in a pinch if you need to. I’ve also gone ahead and made these in 20, 30, and 40mm lengths.
