Hi there, do anyone have experience with lasers and Alexa Mini sensor? I know that officially you are not suppose to shoot laser beam directly into the lens, but is there any safe power rating of laser or ideas how to minimize risk of damage when laser beams are around and possibly could hit the sensor momentarily? Thanks :)
Hey Patrik. I don’t know more than what the camera manufacturers say about it unfortunately and that’s "don’t point lasers directly at the sensor". Would love to hear others feedback on this topic as well!
I have shot with lasers and mini a couple of times, but the laser beams ALWAYS came from the top of the set or from the camera angle (never as a backlight effect) and always protecting as much as possible the lens (light input to the sensor) with catches, flags, tilted external ND's if necessary, etc... and always making sure that there wasn't any jewelry, glass or any element which could deflect any laser beam to the sensor.
