Flight-head Adapter fully hardwired to camera and WCU4 hardwired to? accessories alexa alexamini product-question technical-question By Rafael del Campo on 3/26/19, 3:19 PM • 1,153views Hello, Actually I have a WCU4 set and I'm using a Alexa XT in Russian Arm. We like use all devices hardwired in the RussianArm, and now I'm thinking to buy a "Cmotion Flight-head Adapter" actually I use a long LCS cable from camera to inside and plug to WCU4 and work perfect. Some times I Use the same LCS cable to inside and plug to a custom LCS/LBUS-splitterBox, one cable to Steadyzoom (for operate on handwheels seat) and other cable to WCU4, all work fine completely hardwired. The question is: Can I plug the Flight-head Adapter to LBUS-splitterBox to Console and parallel the WCU4 to same LBUS-splitterBox for can go hardwired like I make with SteadyZoom actually? How much is the minimum voltage for Flight-head Adapter? I ask because the WCU4 and SteadyZoom work up to 6.5V and the voltage drop of 15mt LCS cable from camera + LBUS-splitterBox + cables could be are much? Maybe a extra power on LBUS-splitter box from a onboard battery only for LBUS-splitter? Could be work this, or simply not work? THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Clemens Hönig On 3/26/19, 3:56 PM Hi Rafael, Thanks for the question. Glad you already found a set-up with the steady-zoom. If I understand correctly you want the normal configuration (Zoom signal of the Flight head console -- via Flight Head adapter -- to WCU-4 -- wireless to Alexa), but only hard wired? Yes, that should work with an LCS/LBUS Splitter. The minimum voltage of the Flight-head-adapter is around 6 V, so there should not be any issues. However, we haven`t tried this configuration yet, neither do I have the information about the custom made splitter box. Hope that helps.
SRINIVAS KUSUMA On 10/2/19, 5:44 AM hi Rafael if you are trying to connect steady zoom through WCU-4 with L-BUS to LCS cable, zoom will work but focus an iris will stop working.there is software issue with WCU-4 , Arri will fix this in future update. HARDWIRE will work perfectly. Rafael del Campo On 3/26/19, 9:47 PM Hi, thank by the feedback. The Idea is work hardwired with WCU4 to camera and also hardwired the Flight-Head-adapter to WCU4, but the WCU4 and the adapter has only one LBUS or LCS port, so I use the LBUS-splitterBox for can connect both device together inside the car, and go with a single LCS cable from inside the car to camera, working completely hardwired. I'll send photo of LBUS-splitterBox. Thanks
